Matt Lavallee ("the Blue Wizard") was riding a trolley in Boston in 2002 when he felt the desire for sound that wasn't quite music but also wasn't not music. He's been working on it since then, with a number of interruptions for playing in bands, paying the rent, DJing on radio and in person, riding his bike around, collecting books and records, that sort of stuff.
